Throughout its
history, the University has relied on the support of its alumni and friends to
augment the monies provided by the Federal Government to maintain the quality of
its staff, its programs and facilities.
Currently, less than 50 per cent of the budgeted revenues come from the Federal
Government. For on-going and future needs the University relies on
external support in the form of gifts, endowment income and research grants.
Philanthropic support has become essential to maintain UQ as a world class
university.
Your gift to the University can help fund facilities, programs, research and
scholarships. You can designate your gift for a particular school or
program or leave your gift unrestricted so it can be used for emerging needs
such as construction of new facilities, scholarships, innovative new programs,
research or technology.
There are a number of ways in which you can give to UQ and all donations, small or large, are gratefully received. These include endowments (gifts established to run for a set period or time or in perpetuity) and bequests (the donor defers giving and bequests part of their estate to the University).
Donations are sometimes in the form of equipment, to assist our teaching and research.
If you would like to offer a donation, endowment or bequest to ITEE, please contact the UQ Advancement Office.
